GEOFFREY T. BOISI
Geoffrey T. Boisi is chairman and chief executive officer of Roundtable Investment Partners LLC, a private investment firm with interests in various private equity, money management, real estate and corporate advisory organizations including Carleon Capital Partners LLC, a leading wealth management firm.
In May 2002, Mr. Boisi retired as vice chairman of JPMorgan Chase, where he served as co-CEO of JPMorgan, the firm’s investment bank, and a member of JPMorgan Chase’s executive and management committees.
Prior to joining JPMorgan Chase, Mr. Boisi was founding chairman and senior partner of The Beacon Group, a premier merger and acquisition advisory and private investment firm, which was acquired by Chase in July 2000. Prior to the formation of The Beacon Group, Mr. Boisi was a senior general partner of Goldman, Sachs & Co. where he served as a member of the firm’s management committee and head of the global investment banking business, which included worldwide mergers and acquisitions, real estate, corporate finance, capital markets and principal investment activities. In addition, Mr. Boisi held numerous other positions during his 22 years at Goldman Sachs, including: chairman of strategic planning, co-chair of the international management committee, partner in charge of global finance, head of investment banking services, and partner in charge of mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Boisi is co-founder of MENTOR/National Mentoring Partnership. Founded in 1989, MENTOR ranks as one of the top 100 charities in the U.S. and is leading the movement to connect America’s young people with caring adult mentors.
He is an overseer of The Wharton School; serves Boston College as a trustee, member of the academic affairs committee and founding sponsor of the Center for Religion and American Public Life; adviser to Carnegie Corporation of New York’s investment committee; trustee of The Brookings Institution and a member of its investment committee; member of the James Madison Council of the Library of Congress; director of the Park Agency, Inc. (formerly Joseph P. Kennedy Enterprises); advisory director of Oxford Analytica; director of America’s Promise; serves the Catholic Church as chairman and founding board member of the National Leadership Roundtable on Church Management (NLRCM); trustee of the Saint Thomas More Chapel & Center at Yale University; director of FADICA; and a Knight of Malta.
Mr. Boisi has served as chairman of the board of trustees, Boston College, co-chair of the University’s capital campaign and chair emeritus of the Boston College Wall Street Council; trustee of Carnegie Corporation of New York where he was chairman of the investment committee; chairman of the graduate executive board, The Wharton School and co-chair of its capital campaign; trustee of the Papal Foundation; member of the international advisory board of Grupo Santander (Spain); member of the investment banking committee, American Stock Exchange; member of the board of directors of Freddie Mac; member of the Trilateral Commission; director of Communities in Schools; and a trustee of Friends Academy.
Mr. Boisi has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Wharton School’s Joseph Wharton Award; the American Red Cross of Greater New York’s Humanitarian Award; the Cancer Research Institute’s Oliver R. Grace Award for Distinguished Service in Advancing Cancer Research; the National Catholic Educational Association’s Elizabeth Seton Award and honored by Pope John Paul II as a Steward of St. Peter. He is also the recipient of an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree from Sacred Heart University as well as the 2006 Lewis Hine Distinguished Service Award for outstanding service on behalf of children.
Mr. Boisi is a graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (M.B.A.) and Boston College (B.A.).
RICHARD W. HERBST
RICHARD W. HERBST IS PRESIDENT OF ROUNDTABLE INVESTMENT PARTNERS LLC.
In April 2004, Mr. Herbst retired as a Managing Director of JPMorgan. While working at JPMorgan, Mr. Herbst served as Chairman of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group from July 2000 to July 2001 and from July 2001 to April 2004, was the Global Head of the Financial Institutions and Governments Group.
Prior to joining JPMorgan, Mr. Herbst was a Partner of The Beacon Group, a private investment and strategic advisory firm which was acquired by Chase in July 2000. The Beacon Group had three private equity funds and a strategic financial advisory practice, which focused on advising and representing clients in merger and acquisition transactions and was headed up by Mr. Herbst.
Previous to joining The Beacon Group, Mr. Herbst was a Partner of Goldman, Sachs & Co. where he spent eighteen years, primarily in the Investment Banking Division. While at Goldman Sachs, Mr. Herbst worked in Mergers and Acquisitions serving as a financial advisor to numerous domestic and international financial service clients, headed the Financial Institutions M&A efforts, and was the chief administrative Mergers and Acquisition Partner. During the latter part of Mr. Herbst’s career at Goldman Sachs, he was the senior Mergers and Acquisitions advisor involved in the planning and negotiating of several of the most significant merger transactions in which Goldman Sachs was involved.
Before joining Goldman Sachs, Mr. Herbst was a Corporate Development Officer of The Chubb Corporation.
Mr. Herbst is a member of the Board of Trustees of Colgate University, a member of the Board of Atlantic Health System; the Smithsonian National Board; and the Finance Committee for the Folk Art Museum in New York City.
Mr. Herbst is a graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (M.B.A.) and Colgate University (B.A.).
ALAN H. RAPPAPORT
ALAN H. RAPPAPORT, VICE CHAIRMAN OF ROUNDTABLE AND CARLEON CAPITAL PARTNERS LLC.
Mr. Rappaport was formerly the Chairman and President of Bank of America’s Private Bank, a global wealth management business with over $200 billion dollars in client assets. Prior to joining Bank of America, Mr. Rappaport was Managing Director of Chase Investment Advisors and a member of the management committee of Chase Global Private Bank. Before Chase, Mr. Rappaport was a partner of The Beacon Group and helped establish the wealth management business for this M&A and private equity investment boutique. Mr. Rappaport also spent 17 years with CIBC Oppenheimer, where he was the senior executive responsible for the Asset Management Division, a private client oriented division which provided a comprehensive array of investment services to wealthy clients, with a market leading position in non-traditional asset categories.
Mr. Rappaport is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of GuideStar, Trustee of NYU Langone Medical Center, Trustee of the American Museum of Natural History, National Co-Chair of Duke University Parents Committee and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Mr. Rappaport has previously served several other organizations including the Partnership for New York City, New York City Investment Fund, MENTOR/National Mentoring Partnership, Lawrence Hospital and the New York Stock Exchange Advisory Committee on International Capital Markets.
Mr. Rappaport is a graduate of Stanford University (M.B.A.) and Harvard University (B.A.).
STEPHEN H. HOPKINS, C P A
STEPHEN H. HOPKINS IS A MANAGING DIRECTOR OF ROUNDTABLE INVESTMENT PARTNERS LLC AND IS CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER OF CARLEON CAPITAL PARTNERS LLC.
Prior to Roundtable, Mr. Hopkins was Co-Head, President and Chief Operating Officer of Citigroup Asset Management (CAM), a global money management firm with over $400 billion in assets under management. At CAM, he was responsible for the sales and marketing as well as all non-investment staff functions across Retail, High Net Worth, and Institutional businesses globally. At Citigroup, he also served as head of Private Bank Asset Management and led Global Product Management for The Citigroup Private Bank. Stephen was also a member of the Citigroup Management Committee. In 2005, he led the sale of the CAM to Legg Mason. Subsequently he joined Legg Mason as a Senior Vice President with responsibility for a number of senior level initiatives related to the integration of CAM.
Prior to joining Citigroup in 2001, Mr. Hopkins was Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for Asset Management Services at J.P. Morgan. He also helped launch the first web-based Private Bank. Prior to J.P. Morgan, Mr. Hopkins built Goldman Sachs Asset Management from a business plan to a diversified global money management firm. He served many roles including Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. His previous experience also includes a senior manager role in Arthur Andersen & Co.’s capital markets practice.
Mr. Hopkins has served on the Executive Committee and Board of Governors of the Investment Company Institute.
Mr. Hopkins is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island (B.S.) and is a Certified Public Accountant.
CASEY D. WHALEN SELLERS, C F A
CASEY D. WHALEN SELLERS IS A MANAGING DIRECTOR OF ROUNDTABLE INVESTMENT PARTNERS LLC AND IS CHIEF INVESTMENT OFFICER OF CARLEON CAPITAL PARTNERS LLC.
Prior to joining Roundtable, Mrs. Whalen Sellers was the Chief Investment Officer of The New York Public Library. She joined the Library as the first CIO with a mandate to create the Office of Investments. Her main responsibilities included overall portfolio and investment management of the endowment, which is invested across various asset classes.
Prior to joining the New York Public Library, she was Director of Public Investments for The Rockefeller University, focusing primarily on long-only equities, hedge funds and fixed income.
Mrs. Whalen Sellers began her investment career at the Yale University Investments Office working across various asset classes.
Mrs. Whalen Sellers is a graduate of Yale University (B.A.) and is a CFA chartholder and member of the New York Society of Security Analysts.
JEROME C. ANTENEN, C F A
JEROME C. ANTENEN IS A DIRECTOR OF CARLEON CAPITAL PARTNERS LLC.
Mr. Antenen joined Carleon Capital Partners LLC in 2007 as a Director. Previously, Mr. Antenen worked at Quellos Group LLC (acquired by BlackRock, Inc.) where he served as an Associate Director and assistant portfolio manager, conducting due diligence on private equity and real asset managers for Quellos Private Capital Markets, LP. Prior to that, Mr. Antenen worked at Deutsche Banc Alex Brown Inc. as an Analyst in the investment banking division and a member of the Private Equity Finance Group. Mr. Antenen’s primary responsibilities included sourcing and evaluating private capital managers for potential fundraising mandates. He also supported the due diligence efforts of prospective investors and facilitated the fundraising of capital for those managers.
Mr. Antenen is a graduate from Georgetown University (BSBA cum laude) and is a CFA chartholder.
JOSEPH M. KOPILAK, CPA
JOSEPH M. KOPILAK IS CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER AND A PRINCIPAL OF ROUNDTABLE INVESTMENT PARTNERS LLC.
Prior to joining Roundtable, Mr. Kopilak was a Vice President at JPMorgan Partners where he was responsible for all aspects of financial reporting and fund administration for its $6.5 billion Global Fund. In addition, Mr. Kopilak was responsible for legal and tax structuring of investments and accounting due diligence. Previous to joining JPMorgan Partners, he was the Assistant Controller and an Associate at The Beacon Group, a premier merger and acquisition advisory and private investment firm. Mr. Kopilak also worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Senior Associate where he focused on audit and consulting services for investment banks, private equity firms and commodity pool operators.
Mr. Kopilak is a graduate of The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (M.B.A.) and Boston College (B.S. Summa Cum Laude).
JAMES R. CROSSEN, CPA
JAMES R. CROSSEN IS THE CONTROLLER OF ROUNDTABLE INVESTEMENT PARTNERS LLC.
Prior to joining Roundtable, Mr. Crossen was a Controller in the private equity division at Fortress Investment Group. He was responsible for the operations and financial reporting of the Fortress Residential Investment Deutschland Fund, a German private equity real estate fund. Previously, Mr. Crossen was an Assistant Vice President at JPMorgan Partners where he focused on the operations and administration of the firm’s carry fund. Mr. Crossen began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers as a Senior Associate in the Assurance and Business Advisory Services division, concentrating on the firm’s capital market clients.
